Did you know that one of our very on local non-profits gives free clothes, shoes and food to anyone that walked in the door, no questions asked? If you didn’t, I bet you also didn’t realize the impact they make our local community. Shawnee Community Services has been serving our community since 1982.
The MISSION of Shawnee Community Services is to offer a hand up to anyone in need. This hand up includes:
- Food, clothing, emergency financial assistance for shelter, utilities and health care; and, advocacy.
- Empowering our clients through education and development of life skills and resource management.
- Promoting practices that respect all people of the Earth and the Environment with special emphasis on all types of recycling.
- Actively recognizing the central role that charity plays in society by initiating innovative ways to improve the quality of life locally, nationally & internationally.
- Wisely utilizing the energy and generosity of volunteers, churches, businesses and other organizations in these efforts.

My partner and I are a young couple in the early 20s, and is unfortunately struggling with food at the moment because our 2 recent boarders bluged off us eating most of our food and not paying they rent now there out thank God but we could do with I bit of help still as we now have a baby on the way due next year in june
I am an elderly partially blind mother who needs food and some financial help also some clothes for my son he just got to Jacksonville with a pair of pants to big and shirt too tight and flip flops he suffers from mental health and he has appointments that he must get to here are his size shirts xxl pants 38 shoes 10 1/2 boxes xl and a coat would be helpful. Me and my husband are stranded right now in little rock Arkansas and our car broke down but we had to use all the money we had to get home to texas on to fix our car we have no money for gas or food or clothing or good shoes im a type 1 juvenile diabetic on insulin and my husband has stage 4 cancer we need to get home so he can get his cemo if you know of any places near us in little rock Arkansas that would help please email me thank you and god bless
