DESCRIPTION:First\, Starfish Project wants to thank you for taking time out of your busy lives to help volunteer for us! You have no idea how much we appreciate it! We are looking for a total of 14 volunteers (8 can be between the ages of 16-21). \nHere are the dress requirements and arrival times: \nThis game will be starting at TBD. Volunteers will need to arrive in the Cerner Parking lot (90) minutes before the game starts. From there they will be bussed over to Children’s Mercy Park and will need to be through the gate no later than (60) minutes before the start of the game. Games are (90) minutes long (as long as it does not go into OT) and clean up should not take any longer than (30) minutes. \nAs a volunteer\, here is what we are asked to do: \nThe Non-Profit Organization will ensure that all of its Volunteers wear black pants or shorts (where approved) and black shoes (hard toe or sneaker) or other closed in shoe (where approved) with appropriate soles.  Hats and shirts may be provided by Legends at check-in. You may bring your own hat if it is only SOLID BLACK. To the extent provided\, all hats and shirts must be returned to Legends at the end of each Event.  Failure to do so will result in a deduction to the Non-Profit Organization of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or more.  All Volunteers must wear a plain black shirt under the uniform.  Plain long sleeved black shirts may be worn under the uniform shirt in the event of cool weather.  No logo/hooded t-shirts\, sweatshirts\, blue jeans\, athletic wear\, shorts\, or tanks allowed.  Open toe shoes or sandals are not permitted.  Slip resistant shoes are strongly recommended.  Any Volunteer reporting to the Facility out of proper uniform will not be allowed to work and will not be considered in the count of the minimum number of Volunteers supplied by the Non-Profit Organization until they are in proper uniform.  If the Non-Profit Organization provides less than the minimum number of Volunteers required per this Agreement as a result of a Volunteer not being in uniform\, the Non-Profit Organization is subjected to a Twenty-Five Dollar ($25.00) deduction for each Volunteer not in proper uniform. \n\nNon-Profit Organization Volunteers – As instructed by Legends for each Event\, must arrive between one hundred twenty (120) minutes to sixty (60) minutes before scheduled gate opening as approved by both parties.\n\nThe Non-Profit Organization will be charged $50.00 for each Volunteer who fails to report or who reports to the Facility after the check-in table closes.  Late reporting Volunteers may be sent home and will not be included in the Volunteer count.  Access to the Facility is permitted only to Volunteers who are specifically working in the Non-Profit Organization’s assigned locations. \nThank you again from Starfish Project!

DESCRIPTION:Hope School Christmas Lunch & Gifts\nWe just updated the menu. We will be serving a taco bar and have added it to the sign up list. \nDecember 15th we will be serving the students at Hope Alternative School a Christmas lunch and delivering presents for them and their siblings. Lunch set up will begin at 12:00pm and we will serve at 12:30pm. The menu will be updated soon. We are looking for: food donations\, gifts and volunteers. You are welcome to sign up for as many items as you would like. The more the merrier\, so feel free to share this with others that may want to participate. Be sure to get your reservations in early. \nLocation: 134B S Clairborne Rd\, Olathe\, KS 66062. \nWHAT ARE THE FACTS? \nPRIVATE \nThere are approximately 26\,000 foundations with assets in excess of $34 billion dollars. 3000 foundations control 92% of the total assets and make nearly 82% of all grants. More than 50% of all foundation grants are received in California\, Michigan\, New York\, and the District of Columbia. Public law requires that foundations contribute on a yearly basis. One of the most serious problems confronted by foundations is the low quality of the proposals that are received. \nPUBLIC \nThere are nearly 1\,500 major federal and state funding sources. Comprehensive information and weekly updates concerning federal funding sources are available through local congressional offices. Public funding is allocated in every state. It is anticipated that over $150 billion in federal contracts and cooperative agreements will be awarded this fiscal year. Nearly $100 billion in federal and state grants will be awarded during this fiscal year \nWHY IS THIS COURSE UNIQUE? \nGRANTSMANSHIP: PUBLIC/PRIVATE is a seminar offered by Associated Learning Systems. It is unique in that it: \n* Is designed for health professionals\, developers\, directors\, social workers\, financial administrators\, and consultants who serve in the public and private nonprofit sectors. \n* Allows for the generation of a proposal upon completion of the course to be submitted to various funding sources as the result of a team effort. \n* Enables individuals within agencies to become grants persons by understanding how to utilize existing resources in order to access foundation\, corporate\, federal\, state\, and local funding sources. \nCOURSE GOALS AND\nDESCRIPTION\nThis five-day intensive seminar involves eight hours a day of in- class work with goals of discussing components of grant process and preparing a basic grant application.
