Mission-Aligned Property Partnership Opportunity

Starfish Project Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving thousands of individuals and families across Johnson County through a centralized community resource hub known as The Beach.

Their mission is simple and powerful:

to provide a safe, central place where the community can come together to inspire, empower, and serve — while preserving life-sustaining resources from our city’s landfills.

On average, Starfish Project Foundation distributes resources to 700–800 individuals per day, many of whom are children and families navigating temporary hardship.

Due to continued growth and community impact, the organization is seeking a mission-aligned property partner in Olathe, Kansas.

This is not a traditional tenancy — it is a values-driven partnership that benefits both the community and the property owner.

Who We Serve

  • Individuals, families, and children facing resource insecurity or temporary hardship
  • At-risk populations and students in need
  • Community members accessing food, clothing, hygiene items, and support services

All services are provided at no cost to clients, with dignity, structure, and accountability.

Property Needs

  • Minimum size: 10,000+ square feet
  • Location: Olathe, Kansas

Ideal layout includes:

  • Front retail-style or office area for client services
  • Rear warehouse / storage space
  • Wide-open warehouse area preferred
  • Loading dock and large parking lot (preferred)

Use: Community resource center

Why Stability Matters

Because this location serves as a consistent access point for families and children, stability of location is critical. Frequent moves create disruption for both the individuals served and the volunteers who support them.

For this reason, Starfish Project Foundation is seeking a property partner open to a long-term or open-ended arrangement, allowing the organization to remain rooted, visible, and dependable within the community.

The organization is fully insured and professionally managed, with established leadership, policies, and community partnerships.

Sponsor & Community Recognition

Property partners may be recognized as Community Sponsors, with opportunities for acknowledgment that may include:

  • On-site signage (where permitted)
  • Digital recognition and community communications
  • Event acknowledgment and volunteer engagement opportunities

Recognition is always tasteful, optional, and tailored to the owner’s preference.
