VISION:
To provide the world’s orphaned and abandoned children the foundation of a family in which hope can emerge from hardship.
MISSION:
To keep one more child from spending one more day alone.
GET INVOLVED!
HALO provides housing, healing and education to at-risk and homeless children, in other words, love. Each year, HALO serves over 1,200 children and supports 21 homes and programs around the globe. Internationally, HALO supports orphanages and programs in Uganda, Kenya, Mexico, India, Guatemala and Nicaragua. Domestically, HALO has Learning Centers and housing programs in Kansas City, and Jefferson City, Missouri, and art programming in New York and Portland.
PROGRAMS:
The HALO team is committed to seeking out youth in the greatest need. This includes children and teens who are homeless, in foster care, orphaned, abandoned, and extremely at risk. Internationally, we provide all basic needs in the 11 orphanages we support, including food, water, clothing, education, art therapy, caretakers, and scholarships. Domestically, we partner with local agencies to provide future-focused workshops geared toward helping youth define and pursue their dreams. The end goal is to empower all HALO youth to break the cycle and become contributing members of their communities. Art is a very important part of HALO. Our art programs help youth express themselves and set goals with a positive outlook on the future. Art submitted by HALO youth is auctioned off and the funding goes back to the youth we support.
